ONANOR signs two partnership agreements with ASTM International and Benin’s ANM

On the sidelines of the ISO Annual Meeting held in Paris from 28 September to 2 October 2026, ONANOR Director General Lassana Adama KAMARA signed partnership agreements with ASTM International, represented by its President Andrew G. Kireta Jr., in addition to an agreement with Benin's ANM, represented by its Director General Mouhammed Nazif MOUTAWAKILOU.

The MoU with ASTM International (a US organization and one of the world’s leading standardization bodies, advancing standards and transforming markets).

The agreement with ANM (the National Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control of the Republic of Benin) is motivated by its expertise in legal metrology in particular, and in standardization and certification in general.

For ONANOR, this is the 4th partnership agreement concluded by the Office during 2026, reflecting our ongoing commitment to economic operators and the protection of Mauritanian consumers through legal verification and the introduction of specific standards in industrial mining, oil and gas, construction and digital sectors. This will help ensure the quality of products and services, provide access to new markets, and facilitate fairness in commercial transactions through the verification of measuring instruments subject to legal metrology.
