  • Has the necessary qualifications and technical competence
  • Has complete mastery of processes and systems
  • Produces reliable and valid results
  • Meets internationally specified requirements

Indeed, a test, analysis, calibration or inspection report, or a certificate of conformity for a system, product or person, has greater credibility when issued by a body whose impartiality and technical and organizational competence have been demonstrated against specific internationally recognized criteria.

Based on the principle that accreditation is a simple way to bring a breath of
of confidence and security, it is also assigned a major role that can contribute to:

  • Control, monitor and regulate the national market
  • Ensure the quality of products and services in circulation
  • Ensure consumer safety and health and protect the environment
  • Facilitate the free movement of products and services

Being accredited and recognized for technical competence also means:

  • Strengthen its brand image and reputation among its customers.
  • Minimise technical and financial barriers that may arise from trade
  • Continuously improve performance and knowledge in the relevant field of activity
  • Position yourself against competitors and establish your place nationally and globally

Our missions in the accreditation pillar:

  • Establish the rules and procedures for accrediting conformity-assessment bodies
  • Review applications and issue accreditation decisions to conformity-assessment bodies in accordance with the relevant national and international standards
  • Renew, suspend and withdraw accreditation decisions
  • Develop periodic conformity-assessment programs
  • Conclude all conventions and agreements related to its activity programs with similar foreign organizations, and contribute to efforts leading to mutual-recognition agreements
  • Represent Mauritania in similar international and regional organizations
  • Publish and distribute specialized journals, brochures or bulletins related to its purpose
